BTA Half-Term Junior Tennis Tournament @ BSB (Review)

Over the BSB half-term break in May BTA held a fun junior tennis tournament in 4 categories - 6/U, 8/U, 10/U and 12/U. Players in 6/U, 8/U and 10/U age groups competed in a preliminary round featuring a variety of games and drills where players as young as 4 years had a chance to show-off their skills. All 40 players who took part received a certificate for their efforts. The 4 highest scorers from each category were then invited to compete in the Final where trophies were presented to the winner and runner-up and medals to the other finalists. The tournament was designed to be a fun event for the kids, many of whom have been taking lessons with us for several terms but have not had the opportunity to experience competition. It was great to see a number of new faces including top 12/U National Team player, Ali Dawani. All matches were played with good sportsmanship. Thanks to all the players and parents for making it an enjoyable event for everyone. Click here for photos from the event.

We hope to run more of these events, however are keen to hear from companies interested in sponsoring future editions to cover the costs involved with preparing and running the event. For more information on future tournaments, contact the Director at dan@bahraintennisacademy.com.

Sports Week @ BSB

In May BTA participated in BSB’s Sports Week by running clinics for students who wanted to try out some tennis. It was organised chaos in the BSB gym with 50 kids taking part in the junior school session! Calories we burned and fun was had by all. Thanks to our volunteer helpers and kudos to Mr Ridgeway for organising the events.
